The Effect of Training on Stable and Unstable Surfaces on Static Balance in Healthy Elderly
Purpose: Static balance decrease with aging. Exercise program has significant effects on improving balance. However, the most effective method on improving balance in elderly remains undiscovered. Therefore, the present study investigated the effect of training on the stable and unstable surfaces on the static balance in elderly. Methods: This was a clinical randomized trial with a pre-test p...
متن کاملNonlinear dynamic of the multicellular chopper
In this paper, the dynamics of multicellular chopper are considered. The model is described by a continuous time three--dimensional autonomous system. Some basic dynamical properties such as Poincar'e mapping, power spectrum and chaotic behaviors are studied. Analysis results show that this system has complex dynamics with some interesting characteristics.
متن کاملStatic and non-static electrical solenoids
We propose the system of charge and current densities realizing static and non-static electric solenoids. There is a non-trivial electric vector potential outside the electrical cylindrical or toroidal solenoids. It cannot be eliminated by the gauge transformation. The non-static solenoids emit waves of electromagnetic potentials propagating with the velocity of light. Conditions under which th...
متن کاملQuasi-static cracks and minimal energy surfaces
We compare the roughness of minimal energy(ME) surfaces and scalar “quasi-static” fracture surfaces(SQF). Two dimensional ME and SQF surfaces have the same roughness scaling, w ∼ L (L is system size) with ζ = 2/3. The 3-d ME and SQF results at strong disorder are consistent with the randombond Ising exponent ζ(d ≥ 3) ≈ 0.21(5 − d) (d is bulk dimension). However 3-d SQF surfaces are rougher than...
متن کاملStatic and dynamic friction of hierarchical surfaces.
Hierarchical structures are very common in nature, but only recently have they been systematically studied in materials science, in order to understand the specific effects they can have on the mechanical properties of various systems. Structural hierarchy provides a way to tune and optimize macroscopic mechanical properties starting from simple base constituents and new materials are nowadays ...
